Outlook empty, but unread count visible in webmail

Problem: Unable to locate any emails in Outlook, despite the indication of unread messages in each folder.

Cause: Following migration from IMAP folders to WorldPosta Exchange mailboxes, users frequently encounter an issue where their emails or messages become invisible. This occurs because the transferred folders retain properties and views associated with the IMAP account.

The default IMAP view, “Hide messages marked for deletion” is incompatible with Exchange, as Exchange does not support marking messages. Consequently, this view conceals all messages. Migrated folders retain IMAP views, which result in a “Filter Applied” status bar, as depicted in the screenshot, with no messages visible within the folder.

Solution: Changing the view to “IMAP” will render the messages visible.

To do so:

1. Navigate to the View tab in Outlook.

2. Select Change View.

3. Choose IMAP Messages.

Thank you for your message. It has been sent.
